Hottest Houseware Gadgets, Gizmos Unveiled At Midtown Show

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The latest and greatest in houseware gizmos and gadgets were unveiled in Midtown on Wednesday.

Many of the items have not hit stores yet, but CBS2's Cindy Hsu got a sneak peek at what's hot.

If you're into juicing but the cleanup takes too long with all the parts involved, the one-piece Juicepresso makes it quick and easy.

If you're into leafy greens such as kale, the LooseLeaf will strip the leaves off the stem in seconds, and the tiny holes will strip herbs such as rosemary and thyme.

There's also a coffee maker and coffee bean roaster that you can set using a smartphone app.

If you like to snack on popcorn, the Poptop lets you make your own customized microwave popcorn.

"You can use whatever oil you want or no oil at all, and then season it however you want," said Sarah Heitman of Poptop.

Just pour in the kernels, close the top, throw it in the microwave for two minutes, and out comes 10 cups of popcorn.

If you want your appliances to multitask, there's the Fagor multicooker.

"It is a pressure cooker, slow cooker, rice cooker and now a yogurt maker," a representative said.

There's also the Wherever Grill, which is both an electric and charcoal grill.

And if you like to eat on the couch, The Ripple is a microwavable bowl and plate that attach to each other, so there's no need for a table.

And from football to footwear, stretch laces means you'll never have to fiddle with trying your shoes.

"Simply slip it in and out because the laces stretch," said David Klar of Just Solutions.

And if you love "Star Wars," there's the R2-D2 timer, X-wing fighter knife set and lightsaber barbecue tongs.

The housewares show is not open to the public. Just about everything unveiled Wednesday will be on store shelves in the next few months.
