1/23 CBS2 Thursday Morning Weather Headlines
By Giorgio Panetta, CBS2 Chief Meteorologist/Weather Producer
Good morning everyone!
Clear skies are the rule this morning, not the exception. But clear skies also means very cold temps around the horn. Expect the teens to the north, and as mild as upper 20s near the coast.
Today will be sunny and temps will top off near normal. Highs: 37-41.
But tonight, the high pressure slides offshore and allows a coastal low to track north. We can expect snow to start after midnight down the Jersey Shore. It seems to arrive in NYC around 4 a.m. as snow.
But by sunrise, many computer models are indicating a good portion of the area warms to rain. The areas that remain all snow, will be north of I-287, but the bulk of precipitation stays south, so they will get less. The storm looks to clear out earlier.
Now, by mid- to late afternoon, the bulk of the precip is offshore and rapidly leaving town.
Sunday is mostly sunny and chilly. We watch Monday for another round.
Check back soon for an update.
