Brady To WEEI: 'My Feelings Got Hurt' By 'Deflate-Gate' Scandal

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Somebody get Tom Brady some Kleenex.

Speaking to WEEI radio in Boston on Monday, the New England Patriots' star quarterback said the "Deflate-gate" saga initially left him with hurt feelings.

"It's all speculation," Brady said, referring to the report that stated that 11 of the 12 footballs the Pats used during their AFC Championship game rout of the Indianapolis Colts were underinflated.

"I've tried to wrap my head around it, too. I've done that and I'm trying to move past that, because I continue to try to rehash things," Brady added. "I personalized a lot of things and thought this was all about me, and my feelings got hurt. Then I moved past it, because it's not serving me. What's serving me is try to prepare for the game ahead. I'll deal with whatever happens later."

The Patriots have held three different press conferences over the last week to say they did nothing wrong, and the issue has clearly taken away from the hype for Super Bowl XLIX, which will pit the Patriots against the defending champion Seattle Seahawks on Sunday in Glendale, Arizona.

The NFL isn't likely to announce any findings from its investigation until after the big game. Brady said he's been trying to connect the dots as to how the balls became deflated by 2 pounds per square inch.

"I'll have my opportunity to try to figure out what happened and figure out a theory like everyone else is trying to do. But this isn't the time for that. Honestly, I'm not interested in trying to find out right now, because we have the biggest game of our season ahead," Brady said.

The Patriots' press conferences have been bizarre affairs. The first one seemed to feature Belichick throwing his quarterback under the bus as he responded to questions by telling reporters to go talk to Brady.

However, Brady told WEEI on Monday he didn't feel betrayed by his head coach at all.

"I've never once felt that we're not on the same page," Brady said. "He's a great coach. He's the only coach I've ever played for; he's the only coach I'd ever want to play for. There's a lot of people over the years that have criticized him, but I'd say there's not one player who's ever played for him who's not had an unbelievable amount of respect for him and how he prepares, and his diligence and his preparation."
