Hundreds Attend Annual Pet Expo In Edison, New Jersey

EDISON, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Hundreds of four-legged friends got spoiled this weekend at the annual Pet Expo at the New Jersey Convention Center in Edison.

As CBS2's Ilana Gold reported Sunday, the dogs were jumping with excitement to make new friends and take their owners on a shopping extravaganza with more than 200 vendors selling everything pet related.

Vendors offered everything from the latest toys to healthy treats, fashion, and accessories.

"You can fill it with water and the dogs can roll it around the yard and play," said Gail Black, of Jefferson Township. "I think it's going to keep them busy for a while. She needed to lose a little weight down there."

Tiki the Chihuahua was already trying out her new treats.

"She's a chicken jerky addict," said her owner, Jane Malone, of Monroe.

Wintertime provides the perfect excuse to bundle your pup up in the cutest outfits.

"Some people do cars, some people do jewelry, some people do clothes, and there's those of us who do dogs," said one attendee.

But the expo wasn't just about shopping. It was also a way for the pets to get some unique entertainment, including the use of an indoor obstacle course.

"It's awesome. It's good exercise, it gives him something to do and you don't have to run with him," said Janice Gianforte.
