Hiker From NYC Found Dead In New Hampshire's White Mountains

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A hiker from Manhattan has been found dead in New Hampshire's White Mountains.

Kate Matrosova, 32, activated an emergency personal locator beacon on Sunday during brutal weather, officials said.

Her body was found between Mount Madison and Mount Adams near Star Lake Monday afternoon.

A search team braved winds of up to 108 miles per hour and subzero temperatures to reach the area.

It appears Matrosova died of exposure to the extreme temperatures, officials said.
