2/21 CBS2 Saturday Evening Weather Headlines

By Mark McIntyre, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

We're seeing some pretty widespread snow across the area, but that is expected to mix with rain/sleet then become all rain overnight. Folks far north/west of NYC may hang onto snow a bit longer. Another threat is for icing-- up to a tenth of an inch is possible in spots-- so be careful if you're out on the roads tonight. There is some good news though - we'll get a surge of warmer air overnight that will change everything to rain and it looks like we'll be done with this storm by 7-10 a.m. tomorrow!

For tomorrow afternoon, expect one of the nicest days we've had all month. Sunshine will break out and temps will jump into the low 40s! While it might not sound like much, it's right where we should be this time of year, and also some 20 degrees warmer than what we saw Thursday and Friday of this past week. The bad news is that it won't last. Another cold front drops through the area Sunday night into Monday, sending our temperatures back into the freezer. We're only expecting mid low/mid 20s for Monday's highs around the area (if we're lucky).

Tuesday looks like another frigid start with single-digit temps when you wake up and clouds move in during the day in advance of the next possible round of snow showers Tuesday night.
