2/23 Monday CBS2 Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Justin Lewis
CBS Meteorologist

A much colder air mass arrives this afternoon. Temps will hold steady in the low 20s despite added sunshine. Wind chills by day's end will only be 0-5°.

It turns bitterly cold tonight as our arctic air mass becomes well established. Temps will be in the single digits across the area by sunrise with some record lows in jeopardy!

NL9_HeadlinesIt starts off downright frigid tomorrow, but a southwest wind will fill in during the day... warming into the mid 20s. Sunshine will mix with a some high clouds in the afternoon, but it's overall not a bad looking day.

Wednesday's generally quiet, but we could see a stray snow shower. High in the mid 30s.

We're keeping an eye on a coastal system Thursday, but as of now, it's staying far enough offshore/S&E to mention it in the forecast. Mostly sunny with a colder high in the mid 20s.

Check back for more on the cold and this week's snow chances!
