Boil Water Advisory Lifted For Irvington, Maplewood And Millburn In New Jersey

MILLBURN, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Officials have lifted a boil water advisory that was issued for three northern New Jersey towns after a weekend water main break.

New Jersey American Water said repairs on the ruptured 24-inch main in Millburn have been completed, and testing showed the water quality to be safe.

The advisory, issued early Saturday, had been in effect for Irvington, Maplewood and Millburn.

The water main break, which happened Friday night, sent water flooding into several streets, homes and businesses in Millburn.

It also disrupted service on NJ TRANSIT's Morris and Essex lines as the break also happened near railroad's train tracks.

The cause of the break remains under investigation.
