7 Cats, 1 Dog Missing From East Village Explosion Site

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- At least seven cats and one dog were still missing Tuesday, five days after the explosion that leveled three buildings in the East Village.

What was believed to be a gas explosion took down the building at 121 Second Ave. this past Thursday afternoon. The explosion and fire also destroyed the neighboring buildings at 119 and 123 Second Ave. A fourth building at 125 Second Ave. survived, but sustained major fire damage.

It was not clear what buildings all the missing pets came from, but many lived in the 125 building that survived.
