Jets' Darrelle Revis Claims Instagram Account Was Hacked After Ugly Back And Forth

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Oh, the dangers of social media.

On Sunday, someone using Darrelle Revis' Instagram account got into it with Patriots fans.

Following the incident, the Jets' cornerback -- who left New England to sign with New York last month -- claimed on Twitter that his account was hacked. The Jets' official Twitter account retweeted the star player and also maintained that the account was hacked.

But whether it was Revis or a hacker behind those messages, it was certainly ugly.

The back and forth came after Revis posted a picture of himself taking in a boxing match at Barclays Center.

"S--t I didn't have to go there so basically I did bill & Tom a favor not the other way around (expletive)," one comment said, in reference to the Patriots' head coach and quarterback.

Another read: "I gotta a ring, I'm paid & worth more than you ... Your a pimple on my a--."

The six-time Pro Bowler is normally very quiet and reserved off the field.

He played for the Jets from 2007-12 and won Super Bowl XLIX with the Patriots in his one season with the team.

Revis' deal with the Jets is for $70 million over five years, including $39 million guaranteed.
