NYPD: 81-Year-Old Man Who Fatally Stabbed Granddaughter's Boyfriend Arrested
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- An 81-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of his relative's ex-boyfriend.
The NYPD said Monday that Nicholas Diaz of Brooklyn has been arrested on a manslaughter charge.
Police say 21-year-old Kevin Rivera was killed early Sunday.
Authorities said Rivera had been arguing with his girlfriend when Diaz stepped in and stabbed him.
The couple had recently separated and had just returned from their daughter's first birthday party when the stabbing occurred.
Information on Diaz's attorney was not immediately known.
