Mets' D'Arnaud Out More Than 3 Weeks, Blevins More Than 6 Weeks

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — The news doesn't come as much of a surprise, but it's still troubling.

Mets catcher Travis d'Arnaud will be out more than three weeks and left-handed reliever Jerry Blevins will miss more than six weeks after both were injured in the seventh inning of a 7-6 win over Miami.

KALLET: SCORCHING METS HAVE OVERCOME ADVERSITY, BUT MORE IS ON THE WAY

The team said Monday that d'Arnaud will be in a splint for three weeks after his right hand was broken when he was hit by a pitch a day earlier. Blevins will be in a splint for six weeks after a line drive fractured his throwing arm.

METS' FAST START HAS CITI FIELD ROCKING LIKE NEVER BEFORE

Both were placed on the 15-day disabled list. The Mets said they will select the contract of prized catching prospect Kevin Plawecki from Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday and will recall right-hander pitcher Hansel Robles.
