The 29-story building is the future home of the Riu Plaza Times Square Hotel. It is located at West 46th Street and Eighth Avenue.

Inspectors with the city's Department of Buildings were on the scene Tuesday afternoon, but the fire and police departments had left before 2 p.m.

Less than an hour after the accident, workers were going in and out of the site again, but it was not clear if work had resumed there.
