Rangers Head Coach Alain Vigneault Named Finalist For Jack Adams Award

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — The New York Rangers' Alain Vigneault, Calgary's Bob Hartley and Nashville's Peter Laviolette are the finalists for the Jack Adams Award as NHL's coach of the year.

Members of the NHL Broadcasters' Association submitted ballots at the end of the regular season, with the top three designated as finalists Wednesday. The winner will be announced June 24 at the NHL awards ceremony in Las Vegas.

Vigneault led the Rangers to a 53-22-7 record and 113 points for the Presidents' Trophy as the NHL's top regular-season club. He won the award in 2006-07 with Vancouver.

Hartley guided the Flames to a 45-30-7 record and 97 points, a 20-point increase over last season.

Laviolette led Nashville to a 47-25-10 record in his first season with the Predators.
