5/9 CBS2 Saturday Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Mark McIntyre, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good afternoon folks! Our weekend did start off with more fog and clouds than we'd like to have on a Saturday, but we are getting some breaks of sun this afternoon. Temps will be right around normal topping off near 70 in the city, and upper 70s inland away from the cool ocean waters. Clouds thicken again tonight with fog rolling back in...gonna be mild with an overnight low of 63.

Afternoon Moms Day
We expect a lovely Mother's Day tomorrow! Yes, there will be some morning fog/clouds, but it will not last as long as today's gray skies. Plenty of afternoon sunshine tomorrow with a high of 83 in NYC...cooler along the coasts. But overall, looking like a great finish to the weekend and a great day to celebrate moms!

Afternoon Surface

Monday and Tuesday we're watching the coast for the remnants of Ana, the first named storm of the year. Not expecting any major direct impacts aside from wave action at the beaches. That being said though, both days could see some showers/thunderstorms. Both days will be warm and humid with temps at or above 80.

Have a great afternoon!
