Police Release Pictures Of 2 Sought In Shooting Death Of Bronx 14-Year-Old

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Police are asking for your help finding two suspects wanted in connection with the shooting death of a 14-year-old Bronx boy last week.

Police say Travis Bloch is wanted in connection with the death of Christopher Duran, 14, who was shot once in the head and three times in the chest last Friday.

Bloch is 25, 5 feet 10 inches tall, and weighs about 150 pounds, police said. A photo provided by police shows that Bloch has a distinctive mark on the left side of his neck, just beneath the jawline.

Police believe that Bloch may have been the suspect caught on surveillance tape wearing a light colored hooded sweatshirt with dark sleeves, blue jeans and a red bandana over his face.

Police are also looking for Jeremiah Thomas, also known as "Jay," of the Bronx. He is 16 years old and about 6 feet tall and weighs about 170 pounds.

The incident took place at around 8:30 a.m. at Sheridan Avenue near East 167th Street in Concourse Village.

Duran was seen arguing with two young men just before the shooting, police said.

"He was a good kid. He was a 14-year-old kid. A normal kid, likes to hang out with his friends," said Duran's cousin, Stephanie Guzman. "He's going to school, and he gets shot and killed for no apparent reason. Who does that?"

Police said Duran had a troubled past, with multiple arrests, but his family members were adamant that he was not in a gang.
