Brooklyn Public Library Program Encourages Kids To Read This Summer
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The Brooklyn Public Library is giving kids the power to read this summer.
CBS2 is a proud sponsor of Thursday's summer reading celebration at Grand Army Plaza.
This year's theme is "Every Hero Has A Story" and is encouraging kids to read during summer break.
One student told CBS2's Vanessa Murdock she likes to read mystery, action and adventure books.
The Brooklyn Public Library signed up 138,000 kids for the summer reading program last year.
It's hoping to top 150,000 this year.
