Police: Man Sexually Assaulted Woman On Korea Town Staircase

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Monday were searching for a suspect in the sexual abuse of a woman in Korea Town last week.

Around 4 p.m. this past Thursday, a man lured a 41-year-old woman into the staircase of a commercial building on West 32nd Street, grabbed her from behind, and began groping her chest area, police said.

The victim broke free and screamed, and the suspect ran off, police said.

The suspect was described as a white or Hispanic male, wearing a two-toned Yankees cap, a gray hooded sweat shirt, black pants, and white sneakers.

Police have released surveillance photos.
