6/9 CBS2 Tuesday Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Justin Lewis
CBS2 Meteorologist

Showers and storms will pop-up this afternoon with the strongest storms expected to be north of the city. Activity should wind down through the rush and towards dusk. It will be humid with highs in the low 80s.

Skies will clear up tonight in the wake of our cold front. Expect a low in the mid 60s.

We'll be in between systems tomorrow... skies will be mostly sunny and it won't feel quite as humid out there. It will be warm again with temps maxing out in the low to mid 80s.

A cold front will approach on Thursday, but it looks like it will have a tough time touching off showers and storms. We'll leave in a 20% chance or so for now, but the bigger story will be the heat... potentially the hottest day of the year! Highs that day will be in the upper 80s with a sticky feel in the air.

The cold front should push through Thursday night and allow for a generally quiet Friday, but for now, we'll keep in a slight chance for a rain shower or t-storm.

Check back for more on the heat and this weekend!
