6/16 CBS2 Tuesday Evening Weather Headlines

Good evening all,

Today we had yet another dreary weather day. Scattered showers and overcast clouds dominated with a high of only 78° in Central Park. West and south of the city, however, experienced temperatures in the mid-80s with real feels breaking 90° in some places.

So why this temperature gradient? While South Jersey is ahead of the approaching cold front, NYC and Long Island are being dominated by a cooler easterly sea breeze which is capping our temperatures. This combined with moderate cloud cover and scattered showers will keep us in the high 60s this evening.

The good news? Humidity lessens tomorrow with a high near 80° and sunshine throughout the day. But while tomorrow might be the pick of the week, you're still going to want to keep your umbrella handy as wet weather and cooler temperatures return for Thursday.
