Those arrested at Jones Beach Theater were charged with either drug possession or DWI, authorities said. Fifty others received summonses for underage drinking, police said.

Rockers Fall Out Boy and rapper Wiz Khalifa were performing at Nikon at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh when police received reports of illegal activity.

Sgt. Manny Vilar, president of the state Police Benevolent Association, who has been complaining that state parks and beaches are understaffed, told WCBS 880's Sophia Hall there were only 22 officers on duty for the concert, which drew 15,000 people.

"There's not enough officers," Vilar said. "There were kids passing out in the parkway, being dragged off the parkway so they don't get run over.

"It's gambling with public safety that cannot continue," he said. "Somebody's going to die."

A state parks police spokesperson said last month the agency anticipates hiring 100 public safety rangers to help over the summer months.
