Suffolk Cop Hailed Hero After Reviving Toddler Who Fell Into Pool
BRENTWOOD, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- The life of a toddler on Long Island was saved thanks to a fast-moving police officer.
Police said a neighbor saw the 16-month-old boy climb the ladder and fall into the 3-foot pool in the backyard of a home in Brentwood.
The neighbor then quickly called 911, WCBS 880's Sophia Hall reported.

Suffolk County Police Officer Ramses Cerdas was on patrol around the corner.
"He jumped the fence and by that time, the infant's mother was holding the baby who is unresponsive. Officer Cerdas immediately began CPR on the child," said Suffolk County Police Inspector Bob Brown.
The toddler began to breathe on his own, and is expected to make a full recovery.
Brown said it does not matter the size of the pool, they can all be dangerous for little ones.
"Sometimes adults forget how irresistible that water is to a child. They don't understand the risk," Brown said.
