7/5 CBS2 Sunday Evening Weather

By Mark McIntyre, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

What a spectacular finish to the holiday weekend it's been! Temps topped off in the 80s today with plenty of sunshine and barely any clouds! It will be a very mild night ahead with temps only dropping to about 70 in NYC, a few degrees cooler in the suburbs. Expect some patchy fog overnight as well.

Evening Temps Trend

Monday will start off with sunshine but will finish with clouds moving into the area as high pressure shifts offshore. There's a slight chance for a pop-up shower in the PM, but that would be a real exception. Most folks stay dray and warm with a high of 84 degrees.

Evening Monday Highs

An approaching trough of low pressure from the west and a frontal system from the south will bring much better chances for showers and storms Tuesday...as well as soaring humidity values. It'll be very warm & sticky out there with a high of 85, and some spots in NJ getting 90. A cold front makes its way toward us Wednesday, and that could spark off some more storms..but not before we warm into the upper 80s and even low 90s.

Enjoy the rest of this lovely holiday weekend!
