Suspects Sought After Alleged Stolen Car Sold On Craigslist

WESTBURY, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Detectives are looking for two men accused of selling a stolen car on Craigslist.

A 33-year-old victim responded to a Craigslist ad for the sale of a 2012 Honda Civic. He then met with two men, who claimed to be the sellers, at the his house in Westbury on Wednesday, July 8 around 6:30 p.m. and bought the vehicle for $8,000.

When the victim later tried to register the car at  the Department of Motor Vehicles, he was alerted that it was a stolen vehicle.

Authorities say that during the sale of the vehicle, the victim captured a video and photos of the apparent suspects.
