The Yankees increased their lead over the Blue Jays in the AL East to a full game, thanks to an 8-7 win over the Twins Monday night in the Bronx.
Jerry Recco started with the story surrounding the Bombers, who got a scare in the second inning when starting pitcher Bryan Mitchell took a line drive to the face. Mitchell left the field under his own power and all signs point to him being OK -- and very fortunate too. Tonight at the Stadium, the Twins' Mike Pelfrey will counter CC Sabathia, who addressed a verbal altercation he got into outside of a Toronto night club.
