22 Hurt In Manhattan High-Rise Fire

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Twenty-two people were injured Sunday in a fire at a high-rise apartment building in Manhattan, fire officials said.

The fire was reported shortly before 11 a.m. at a building in the Riverside Park Community on Broadway at West 135th Street, officials said. The two-alarm blaze broke out on the 16th floor of the 35-story building and spread to the 17th, officials said.

The fire was under control by noon.

Two people suffered serious injuries. Four children have minor injuries. Ten firefighters were among those hurt.

The cause of the blaze was not clear Sunday afternoon.
