Interview: Texting A 'Powerful' Tool For Helping In Crisis

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Some people are receiving emotional support through a medium they know and trust: text messaging.

Crisis Text Line is a free, 24/7, confidential, high-tech platform right on your smartphone whenever you may need it.

Baylee Greenberg from Crisis Text Line, who stopped by the CBS2 studios, said texting can be "extremely powerful as a means of crisis intervention. So if you have a crisis and you're surrounded by people, we can be with you there in that moment because text is private. It's between us and the texter."
