Bike To Breathe Day 3 - Smooth Riding

It was like Groundhog's Day all over again in terms of my morning routine, aside from my legs feeling like flat tires. I woke up at about 5am, fueled up with the usual and stretched. Oh, and today I also whipped out my Spiro to check my lung function – BOOM! – my levels were amazing! That alone gave me the feeling that this was going to be a great day!

Today's 59 mile ride was a bit shorter than yesterday's 81 miles, and quite frankly, this made it whole lot easier for me to get "back in the saddle." That and it was an incredibly warm autumn day in the Northeast. You know I like my good weather, which not only lends itself to easy riding, but some fun along the way.

Just like today's ride, this is a shorter report as well, since I have to head on out to recover with Osmo, a nutrition company I've been using for recovery for over 5 years, pre and post-transplant. And, you guessed it, another ice bath awaits, to help get these "flat tires" pumped up and ready to go tomorrow.

But, before I do go, there are a couple of highlights including me hanging with a few turkeys who decided to visit me during a break I took on a bench. This is one of the things I love about getting out the city – I mean when was the last time turkeys came to chill we me in Prospect Park? We also were told by some folks on social media to look for "CF" in white chalk on this stretch of our ride. These markings were remnants of another bike ride that supported CF. We were so psyched to find them and it reminded us of the power of the CF community.

Day 3 - We found the CF markings someone on social media told us to look for - great stuff!

Well, tomorrow is another short day as we'll be heading just south into Boston. Fingers crossed the weather and the terrain are as amazing as today.
