NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police have now linked a rape in Canarsie, Brooklyn to a subsequent attempted rape in the same neighborhood.

Around 12:10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, the 19-year-old woman was walking south on Rockaway Parkway in Brooklyn when a man came up to her, said he had a gun, and threatened to rape her, police said. He never displayed a gun, according to police sources.

He pulled her into the back of the building at 1911 Rockaway Pkwy. and raped her, police said.
