Mets Fans Bring Good Luck To Citi Field For Game 5

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Mets fans are nervous, but optimistic -- they recognize it's a must-win tonight as they take on the Kansas City Royals in Game 5 of the World Series Championship.

But they have faith in their team. Many fans brought their good luck charms to the game, WLNY's Matt Kozar reported.

Robert Block wore his lucky jersey -- signed by Mookie Wilson, Doc Gooden, Wallie Backman and Tim Teufel -- all members of the 1986 championship team.

Robert Busillo, of Fairfield, is wearing a Batman mask and his lucky blue and orange 'believe' bracelet in honor of Mets' pitcher Matt Harvey -- nicknamed 'The Dark Knight.' Busillo said he got the lucky bracelet from a friend.

"I told her in December when she gave this to me for Christmas, the Mets are going to the World Series this year, and I will wear it until they lose, and I intend on wearing it all the way through now to Game 7, and not taking it off," Busillo said of the bracelet.

Kaysi Fitzpatrick said she is the good luck charm.

"Every time I don't get a chance to watch the game, they lose," Fitzpatrick said.

Despite Daniel Murphy's costly 8th inning error last night, Mets fans say they are rooting for the star first basemen tonight and they're hoping his bat comes alive.
