Chris Wragge Checks Out How To Take The Perfect Selfie

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - The "selfie" is defined in Webster's dictionary as a photograph that one has taken of oneself.

On Instagram, there have been more than 240 million posts with #selfie.

CBS2's Chris Wragge set out to find out how to take the perfect selfie.

According to Samsung, over 2 million selfies are posted to social media sites a day. Facebook accounts for 48 percent of those posts. Instagram features over 58 million selfies. The number is rising faster than the national debt, Wragge reported.

Right now, the United States trails Australia and New York City trails the Philippines for tops in total selfies worldwide.

According to Instagram, pictures of faces are 38% more likely to receive likes, and 32% more likely to attract comments.

When it comes to selfies, it's all about the angles, the lighting, the background and the filter, Wragge reported.

For a better selfie, hold your camera up high aiming down at your face at 45 degree angle, and smile, Wragge reported. That'll keep you from appearing to have a double chin.

Check out more of his tips in the video above.
