3 To See At ACC: ChaCha, Cecile & Manolo! Plus Holiday Adoption Special!

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- CBSNewYork.com and 1010 WINS have teamed up with Animal Care Centers of New York City to let you know about some of the adoptable animals looking for loving homes in the city's shelters and where ACC's mobile adoption units are headed with even more great pets.

This week, we're featuring: ChaCha, Cecile and Manolo!

Cha Cha (A1013486 - photo above) Cha Cha, an ACC volunteer writes, is "friendly, lively, loves to meet new people and loves to snuggle." This approximately three-year-old cutie has lived with children and cats, and her previous family says she plays exuberantly with  other dogs. She also loves to play chase and with stuffed toys. Meet adorable Cha Cha at ACC's Manhattan Care Center, at 326 E. 110th Street.

Cecile (A1055848) "This girl has it all - looks, personality, energy, smarts, and sweetness," notes an ACC volunteer. "She'll use all of her charm to get your attention, including trying out a comic routine - and with her orange coat and striking looks, she'll remind you of Lucille Ball. Then, when you finally indulge her, she'll turn into a sweet love sponge." Meet approximately 13-month-old Cecile at ACC's Manhattan Care Center, 326 E. 110th Street.

Manolo (A1057377) Manolo's gorgeous green eyes will draw you in, and his purrsonality is just as appealing. "He is a charming and curious sweet soul with distinctive and unique markings on his nose," writes an ACC volunteer. "He enjoys being petted and would make a lovely companion to anyone with time to give." We're told this handsome, approximately six-year-old feline enjoyed the company of the children in his former home, and was also very tolerant of the other cat he used to live with. Manolo is available for adoption at ACC's Manhattan Care Center, 326 E. 110th Street.

Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is the only open-admissions animal shelter in New York City and takes in approximately 30,000 animals every year. ACC's  three Care Centers are located in Manhattan (326 East 110th Street), Brooklyn (2336 Linden Boulevard), and Staten Island (3139 Veterans Road West).

***Please note:  ACC shelters will be closed Thursday, November 26th for Thanksgiving but will be open for adoptions on Friday, November 27th (as well as Saturday and Sunday) from 10am-6pm. ACC is also holding a Thanksgiving special through November 30, waiving the adoption fees on adult cats and reducing the fees on others***

Please note, animals featured here may already be placed by the time you arrive, but there are hundreds of great cats, dogs, and rabbits looking for loving homes every day! You can view available animals online, and at the Care Centers, ACC Adoption Counselors will help you find the best match.

To adopt an animal, you must have a valid photo ID, be 18 years of age or older, and bring proof of current address. ACC adoptions include vaccinations, spay/neuter, a pre-registered microchip, an identification tag, a collar, and a certificate for a free initial exam at a participating veterinarian.
