WATCH: Giants' Coughlin Does Jumping Jacks When Asked About NFC East Tie

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Somehow, some way, the Giants are still very much alive.

Despite losing three games in a row -- two of which were heartbreakers to the Patriots and Jets, and the other an ugly loss to the rival Redskins -- Big Blue sits in a three-way tie atop the NFC East with a 5-7 record.

New York is tied with the Redskins and the Eagles. If Washington had defeated Dallas this past Monday night, it would have held a one-game lead over the Giants -- with the tiebreaker.

But the Redskins couldn't get it done, and now it's anyone's division.

On Thursday, when Giants head coach Tom Coughlin was asked how he felt about his team being tied for first place, the 69-year-old didn't answer.

Instead, he did three jumping jacks and smiled.

Seriously.

"Jumping jacks for every meeting like that, that's for sure," Coughlin told reporters. "It's exciting. Let's face it, it is exciting. I've said it many times before. We have to take care of our own business, but to be in a circumstance where we're in the hunt is a good and exciting thing. And I think the players realize that."

The Giants will play the Dolphins at Sun Life Stadium on Monday night. Their final three games will be against the Panthers (home), Vikings (road) and Eagles (home).
