Elmwood Park, N.J. Special Ed Teacher Accused Of Child Abuse, Assault
ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A special education teacher stood accused Monday of child abuse and assault at her school in Elmwood Park, New Jersey.
Ashley L. Frabizzio, 30, of Butler, works as a special education teacher at the Sixteenth Avenue Elementary School in Elmwood Park, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor's office.
Elmwood Park police were notified by a school administrator that a special education teacher had abused a child, prosecutors said. Frabizzio was arrested and charged with two counts each of child abuse and simple assault following an investigation, prosecutors said.
Prosecutors did not specify what exactly Frabizzio was accused of doing to the child or children.
Following her arrest, Frabizzio was released on $2,500 bail with the option of posting 10 percent, prosecutors said.
As conditions of her bail, Frabizzio was forbidden from having contact with the alleged victims, the school or school personnel, and she was also forbidden from having firearms, prosecutors said.
