Azealia Banks Arrested After Allegedly Punching, Biting Bouncer At NYC Nightclub

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- New York City-based rapper Azealia Banks was arrested after allegedly attacking a female bouncer outside of a popular nightclub on the Lower East Side on Wednesday night.

Banks, 24, was at the Up & Down, a club in the Meatpacking District, when she got into an altercation with some of the bouncers and began screaming. Police said Banks punched a female security guard, spit in her face and bit her in the breast, the New York Post reported.

While getting escorted from the club, Banks kept screaming about how she was on Rhianna's new album, 1010 WINS' John Montone reported. Once outside, Banks, apparently feeling disrespected, shouted "I'm going to call the cops."

Police eventually did arrive, but arrested Banks. She was charged with assault.

The female bouncer declined medical attention at the scene.

Montone reports this isn't the first time Banks has been in a bar brawl -- the female rapper also allegedly assaulted a bouncer in Los Angeles earlier this year.
