Missouri Court Case For Jets' Richardson Again Postponed

ST. CHARLES, Mo. (CBSNewYork/AP) — A Missouri court case against New York Jets defensive lineman Sheldon Richardson involving a high-speed police chase has been postponed until after the NFL regular season.

Richardson's Monday morning disposition hearing on five misdemeanor charges related to the July 14 incident in suburban St. Louis was continued to Jan. 25.

Hearings in October and November were also postponed.

The former University of Missouri star pleaded not guilty after he was arrested for driving his 2014 Bentley Silver Spur at speeds up to 143 mph on an interstate highway near his offseason home. The charges include resisting arrest.

He served a four-game, early season suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy and could face more discipline related to the Missouri case under the league's personal conduct policy.

In nine games this season, Richardson has 27 combined tackles, four sacks and two forced fumbles.
