12/31 CBS2 New Year's Eve Evening Weather Headlines
By Matt DeLucia
CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer
As the year winds down, clouds are breaking up out there. Mostly cloudy skies will gradually give way to partly cloudy later this evening, with temps in the 40s. It'll be right around 40 for the ball drop, feeling more like 35. Definitely better than last year, when temps were in the 20s!
New Year's Day will see a mix of sun and clouds with slighter cooler temps. We'll climb to 45 in the city, which is still above normal for this time of year. The dry and sunny weather continues right through the weekend, but with even colder temps ... low 40s in Central Park.
It's looking like we'll get our first real taste of winter by next week, with high temps only in the 30s! The normal high for this time of year is around 39, and we'll be slightly colder than that. The good news is it's looking dry for now.
Check back in soon and Happy New Year!
