Devils' Tootoo Fined $2,000 By NHL For Diving/Embellishment

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- The NHL has fined New Jersey Devils forward Jordin Tootoo $2,000 for his second offense of the diving-embellishment rule.

The league announced the fine Thursday.

Tootoo was issued a warning for his action in a game against the New York Rangers on Oct. 18. He was cited for his second offense, which triggered the $2,000 fine, for an incident in the third period against Detroit last week.

The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.

On Wednesday, the NHL suspended forward Bobby Farnham for four games for an interference penalty against the St. Louis Blues a day earlier.
