NYPD: Man Drives Wrong Way Down Street, Punches Man In Face

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The NYPD is looking for an unidentified man who allegedly punched another man in the face after driving the wrong way down a street in the Bronx.

According to police, the 49-year-old victim was driving his car on Gunther Avenue at around 5:45 p.m. Tuesday evening when he spotted a light-colored SUV driving in the wrong direction down the street.

The driver of the SUV drove up alongside the victim's car, then proceeded to go up to the window of the vehicle and punch the victim on the left side of his face, police said.

Police said the victim had briefly spoken to the suspect before he was hit, but it was not immediately clear what was said.

After the attack, the suspect fled in his car in an unknown direction, police said.

The victim was taken to Jacobi Medical Center and was treated for a facial injury, police said.
