Derek Fisher Traveling With Matt Barnes' Wife Days After Being Fired By Knicks

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Well, that was quick.

Days after getting fired as Knicks coach, Derek Fisher is apparently already jetsetting with the same woman who helped land him in the tabloids in recent months.

Gloria Govan, the estranged wife of Fisher's former teammate, Matt Barnes, posted a photo on Instagram showing her and more than a dozen other people posing together in an airport jetway. Fisher can be seen in the back wearing a baseball cap and a grin and making a phone gesture with his left hand.

Some of the hashtags Govan used with the photo included "#internationalflight," "#birthday" and "#celebration." It didn't mention exactly where the group was headed.

Govan, who appeared on the reality TV series "Basketball Wives," later deleted the photo, but some media outlets had already taken screenshots.

In October, Fisher got into, according to the NBA, "a physical altercation" with Barnes at Govan's California home. According to reports, Barnes was upset that Fisher, his onetime friend, was romancing his ex.

Barnes, who played with Fisher on the Lakers but now is a member of the Memphis Grizzlies, reportedly texted a friend, "I kicked his ass from the back yard to the front room, and spit in her face." Fisher missed practice the next day.

The NBA suspended Barnes for two games over the incident.

The Knicks on Monday fired Fisher, who had a 40-96 record in his 1 1/2 seasons with the team. He had signed a five-year, $25 million contract, money he will still collect after his dismissal.
