2/15 CBS2 Monday Morning Weather Headlines

By Matt DeLucia
CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good morning, folks!

We're starting off dry, but COLD once again this morning. The good news is temps rise from here on out. The bad news? A wintry mess is headed our way.

Snow will be moving in early this afternoon from SW to NE. It looks like a slick PM commute, but the Presidents' Day holiday will help as some will be home. After a few inches accumulation, we change to rain as temps rise. Everyone should see rain by shortly after midnight, but not before the NW suburbs deal with some sleet and freezing rain.

Tuesday will be warm and wet, with highs reaching the low to mid 50s! After a morning lull, another round of moderate to heavy rain moves through during the afternoon. Expect some flooding concerns, especially with the frozen ground and blocked storm drains.

The rain moves out Tuesday night, but not before bringing a widespread soaking of 1-2". We dip back down into the 40s on Wednesday with some leftover rain/snow showers. Have a nice Presidents' Day and be sure to check back in soon for the latest!
