Suspect Shot By Police After Allegedly Waving Gun In Street
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police shot a suspect Monday afternoon in the Bronx, authorities said.
The shooting happened around 3:45 p.m. at 1071 Tinton Ave. The male suspect was not seriously injured and was taken to Lincoln Medical Center, police said.
Three police officers responded to a call of a man with a gun, CBS2 reported. The 29-year-old man refused numerous demands to drop the weapon before he was shot in the shoulder.
Surveillance video captured of the suspect before his encounter with police show the man pointing his weapon at a dog as he was walking down the street.
The man was taken to Lincoln Hospital by ambulance, where he allegedly said he was on Angel Dust, also known as PCP, 1010 WINS' Al Jones reported.
No officers were injured. The gun was recovered at the scene.
