N.J. State Trooper Struck By Vehicle In Accident On I-295 In West Deptford
WEST DEPTFORD, N.J. (CBSNewYork/CBS Philly) -- A New Jersey State police trooper was struck by a vehicle, and a second person was also injured, in an accident Monday evening in West Deptford, New Jersey.
The accident happened around 8:20 p.m. on Interstate 295 in West Deptford, across the Delaware River from Philadelphia, state police said.
Two people were injured, state police said. The trooper was struck by a vehicle and was airlifted to Cooper Medical Center in Camden. He was reported in serious condition, officials told CBS Philly.
It was unclear the trooper was outside of his patrol car, CBS Philly reported.
Chopper video at the scene showed a burned out car that was involved in the accident.
Southbound I-295 was shut near mile markers 23 and 24 after the accident. One northbound lane closed.
