2 Amtrak Lines Briefly Halted Between Philadelphia, Trenton Due To Police Activity

LEVITTOWN, Pa. (CBSNewYork) -- Service on the Northeast Regional and Acela Express Amtrak lines was briefly halted between Trenton and Philadelphia Thursday night due to police activity.

Amtrak reported as of 8:15 p.m. that service was suspended on the two lines, which both serve New York City via Penn Station. The reason was police activity in Levittown, Pennsylvania.

The rail service did not specify the police activity that warranted the suspension.

Service had been restored by about 8:45 p.m., though some passengers reported delays persisted afterward.
