NYC's Computer-Aided 911 System Shuts Down For Nearly 20 Minutes
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- There was some trouble for the city's 911 system Thursday afternoon.
The EMS computer-aided dispatch system went down for nearly 20 minutes.
EMS operators were forced to grab pen and paper to take down information and dispatch ambulances.
Officials said no 911 calls were missed during the outage.
The city adopted a new dispatching system three years ago.
Since then, the software has experienced sporadic shutdowns.
