Police: LI Woman Breaks Into Home To Leave Gift For Boy She Used To Babysit

SAYVILLE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A Long Island woman is facing stalking and other charges after police said she broke into a home to leave a present for a boy she used to babysit.

Casey Evans, 29, of Ronkonkoma, was fired by the parents of a 4-year-old Sayville boy that she cared for between August and November 2015, police said.

On March 30, Evans allegedly tried to sign the boy out of school. Later that day, police said she broke into the family's home to leave a gift for the child.

Evans was arrested on Saturday.

She was arraigned the next day on charges of  fourth-degree stalking and second-degree criminal trespass.

On Thursday, CBS2's Scott Rapoport reached out to Evans for a comment. She replied by slamming the door in his face.

Evans was fired by the child's parents in November.
