WATCH: Mets' Cespedes Hurls Himself Into Stands, Knees Fan In Chest Going After Foul Ball
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Good job, good effort, Yoenis Cespedes.
The New York Mets outfielder hurled himself into the left field stands trying to catch a foul ball off the Miami Marlins' Ichiro Suzuki.
Instead of making a spectacular catch, the $27 million player crashed into a fan, kneeing him in the chest.
Trainers checked on Cespedes, but he remained in the game. It did not appear any of the fans in the area were injured, either.
Twitter users, of course, had fun at Cespedes' expense.
Cespedes finished 0-3 at the plate as the Mets defeated the Marlins 2-1.
