The Mets took care of business during an afternoon affair at Citi Field on Wednesday, topping the Braves 8-0 behind another solid performance of young left-hander Steven Matz.
A short while later, the Yankees sent their seasoned southpaw to the hill down in Baltimore and CC Sabathia and the Bombers responded in a big way, beating Buck Showalter's Orioles 7-0.
So it was there that Boomer & Carton got the ball rolling Thursday morning, a welcomed change considering the baseball locals' recent struggles.
Like the Yankees, Boomer actually spent his Wednesday afternoon in Baltimore, only he attended the star-studded "Armour Day," celebrating 20 years of Under Armour.
Craig later got some grief from a fella named "Tommy," who apparently lost a little scratch after Carton's three-game parlay failed to come to fruition thanks to a Pirates loss.
