Trader Joe's Recalls Frozen Vegetable Products, Salads Over Listeria Concerns
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Trader Joe's has issued a recall of some of their frozen vegetable products after a major frozen food supplier cited possible Listeria contamination in some of their products
According to the supermarket, several varieties of their frozen vegetables are affected, including Trader Joe's Organic Peas, Trader Joe's Petite Peas, Trader Joe's Organic Whole Green Beans, Trader Joe's Organic Broccoli Florettes, Trader Joe's Organic Foursome.
Trader Joe's Super Sweet Cut Corn and their Trader Joe's Broccoli Slaw & Kale Salad with White Chicken Meat, Sunflower Seeds, Cranberries, And A Sweet & Spicy Vinaigrette products have also been cited.
Trader Joe's Broccoli Slaw & Kale Salad was only sold only in Arizona, California, Nevada and Utah.
The recall comes after distributor CRF Frozen Foods expanded a recall of frozen organic and traditional fruits and vegetables over possible listeria contamination.
The CRF Frozen Foods recall includes some 358 products sold under 42 brand names, including items like kale, potatoes, blueberries, strawberries, broccoli and various vegetable medleys, among others.
Trader Joe's is advising anyone who may have purchased the products to throw them out or return them to a local Trader Joe's location for a full refund.
