5/26 CBS2 Thursday Afternoon Weather

Wow! What a scorcher we had yesterday! We'll have a repeat today but with a little more humidity. Some spots may have slightly lower temps, but the humidity will make it feel hotter. Still, we're shooting for 87 in NYC and some spots in NJ will break 90 again. Spots along the South Shore of LI will be stuck in the 70s.

If you want to cool down at the beach, you'll have plenty of sunshine with no risk for thunderstorms during the day...but there is a moderate risk for rip currents for Long Island beaches, and a lower risk for the Jersey Shore. Just be mindful and play it safe!

Tomorrow will be very similar but with a slightly higher chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms, first in the early morning and then again later in the evening. Temps will be once again in the mid & upper 80s for most, cooler for the coasts, and 85 in NYC.
